My Nicaragua Travel Journey
II only spent two weeks in Nicaragua, but the country left a mark on me, and I still find myself dreaming about going back.
From hiking volcanoes at sunrise to slow days on Little Corn Island, it’s a place that surprised me in all the right ways. I wandered pastel-coloured colonial streets, ate the best roadside gallo pinto of my life, and met people who welcomed me like I’d been there forever.
Nicaragua is vibrant, wild, and full of contrasts. Even in such a short time, it felt like a country that gets under your skin. I have no doubt I’ll return probably more than once..

Welcome To Little Corn Island
Little Corn Island is easily one of my favourite places I’ve ever visited. This tiny Caribbean island off the coast of Nicaragua has a way of getting under your skin, in the best way.
Think quiet beaches with no one around, jungle paths instead of roads, sunset cocktails at barefoot beach bars, and days that pass without a single plan. It’s the kind of place you arrive at for a few days and end up staying much longer.
My Nicaragua Travel Essentials
These are my favoruite India travel essentials and I never travel the country without them to hand!
Safetywing Travel Insurance
Coverage for medical emergencies and unexpected travel issues. Having it means I don’t have to worry about what I’d do if something went wrong abroad. The best part is that you can renew it monthly, and you can take it out even if your trip has already begun.
An ESIM
Affordable mobile data as soon as I land is so handy, as it makes it easy to message family, check maps, or book transport straight away. These are brands I use time and time again (depending on the region I am travelling to and the type of trip). If you do find a suitable eSIM through Sim Local, make sure to use the code: INTHECLOUDS for 5% off.
Transport
